Alice L. Schmidt, 65, of Kenosha passed away on Thursday May 29, 2014 at her home, after an extensive and courageous fight with cancer. Alice was born on Feb.2, 1949 in Kenosha, the daughter of the late Russell J. & Anna (Pestka) Arneson. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha graduating from St. Joseph High School in ‘67. She attended Gateway Technical College earning a degree in nursing. Alice worked in assembly at AMC/Chrysler for 35 years, and was a clerical nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Racine. She was a member of UAW Local # 72. Her hobbies included gardening, painting, and most of all spending time with her family & friends. Alice married Kurt Schmidt on March 2, 1986 in Kenosha. Survivors include her husband Kurt; her 3 children, Gerald B. Billen Jr., Scott E. Schmidt, Jennifer A. Schmidt, as well as her grandson Cody R. Billen. Alice is also survived by her siblings, Ralph (Kathy) Arneson, Raymond (Diana) Arneson, Russ (Diane) Arneson. Visitation will be Friday June 6, 2014 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Kenosha Funeral Services, with a Funeral Service to follow at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials and donations for cancer research to be made to the American Cancer Society in Alice’s remembrance.
